Building The Future of Freight, One Partnership at a Time.
Who We Are.
Our Story.
Carolina Expressways was built on a straightforward belief: the principles that work in high-stakes military logistics, precision, accountability, and relentless follow-through are exactly what's missing from most freight brokerages and logistics providers.
Our founder spent years coordinating 24/7 supply chain operations during operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn, where missed shipments weren't inconveniences; they were mission failures. He then spent over a decade at Deloitte, advising on billion-dollar logistics programs, where he saw how the right processes and people transform supply chains from cost centers into competitive advantages.
Carolina Expressways exists to bring that same discipline to businesses that are tired of excuses, missed pickups, and brokers who disappear after the load is booked. We don't promise to be different. We ARE different, and we let the results speak for themselves.
Our Mission:
To deliver exceptional freight brokerage services that empower businesses to move goods reliably, efficiently, and cost-effectively across the United States, transforming logistics from an operational headache into a strategic advantage.
Our Vision:
To become the freight brokerage of choice for businesses and government agencies that refuse to compromise on reliability, building a carrier network and reputation that sets the standard for how the industry should operate..
What Sets Us Apart.
We built Carolina Expressways around four principles that guide every decision we make:
Operational Precision: Every shipment is mission-critical. We vet carriers rigorously, maintain 24/7 oversight, and build processes that deliver consistency, because your freight is your reputation.
Strategic Partnership: We're not here to move one load and disappear. We invest time learning your business, anticipating challenges, and finding ways to help you reduce costs and improve performance over time.
Technology That Works for You: Real-time tracking, carrier intelligence, and data-driven insights give you visibility and control. But our technology supports relationships; it doesn't replace them.
A Carrier Network That Shows Up: We pay carriers fast and treat them fairly. That's not charity; it's strategy. Motivated carriers prioritize our loads, which means your freight moves with the reliability you need.
Serving Commercial & Government Clients.
We work with manufacturers, distributors, producers, and retailers who need freight moved without excuses. We also serve federal, state, and local government agencies, with full compliance to FAR regulations, GSA requirements, and the service standards public sector logistics demand.
Built for Value. Not Volume.
Most brokerages chase load count. We'd rather move less freight exceptionally than more freight inconsistently.
That's not a tagline, it's how we built Carolina Expressways. Rigorous carrier vetting. Proactive communication. Follow-through that doesn't disappear after the load is booked. The kind of execution that earns repeat business, not just transactions.
It starts with who's leading the operation.
Meet the Founder.
After almost two decades building a career others would coast on, Ted decided to take on the challenge of changing an industry. Not because moving freight was easy, but because he saw an industry full of potential and short on operators willing to modernize and do things the right way.
He's not an absentee founder who just shows up for meetings. He's on carrier calls, solving operational problems, and working with shippers directly. That's by design. The standards Carolina Expressways operates by aren't delegated; they're demonstrated.
Theodore “Ted” Fyock Jr.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Ted Fyock is the Founder and CEO of Carolina Expressways, a freight brokerage he launched in October 2025 after nearly two decades in military logistics and management consulting.
Ted's career began as a United States Army Officer (Armor), where he managed complex supply chain operations under the most demanding conditions imaginable. Deployed to Iraq, he oversaw 24/7 logistics operations at Forward Operating Base Hammer, coordinating fuel distribution, equipment maintenance, ammunition supply, and continuous shipping and receiving supporting Multi Nation Core - Iraq (MNC-I) combat operations.
After the Army, Ted spent 12 years at Deloitte Consulting LLP advising senior executives on transformational initiatives, and managing large-scale engagement portfolios. His work on the VA's $15 billion Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor supply chain optimization program demonstrated his ability to drive results at a massive scale.
Ted founded Carolina Expressways because he believed the freight industry needed operators, not just brokers. His approach is simple: build a reliable carrier network that shares our core principles, help clients gain operational efficiencies and save money by leveraging next-generation technologies, communicate proactively, and follow through on every commitment. No excuses, no shortcuts.
Ted leads with a philosophy of building high-performing teams and delivering measurable value through transparency and relentless execution.
Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Appalachian State University. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife Kristen and their two children, where he enjoys golfing, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.
